Early Years Social Work

Early Years Social Workers seek to improve the quality of life and well-being of individuals and families facing social disadvantages such as poverty, mental and/or physical health challenges, or disability.  This service is available to expectant families and families of children under the age of six.

A variety of Early Years Social Work services are available, including:

  • Individual counselling
  • Developmental counselling
  • Groups
  • Workshops
  • Crisis Support

Early Years Social Workers work with clients to support a variety of issues, including mental/physical illness, anxiety, stress, partner violence, substance use, and past or current trauma.

Child and Family Advocacy

We provide short-term support to help build parents’ strength in facilitating positive parenting while cultivating and nurturing parent-child relationships.  We assist families in navigating systems to ensure that parents and guardians have access to supports that will benefit their family including:

  • Income support
  • Education (for adults and children)
  • Affordable housing
  • Supports for children with special needs
  • Assistance with welfare
  • Immigration and justice support
  • Employment
  • Access to childcare
