Consumption Treatment Services (CTS) Coordinator
We are a dynamic community-based health centre promoting social justice and health equity in the Regent Park neighbourhood and Downtown East area of Toronto. We operate out of several locations and provide a wide variety of services including: primary health care, chiropody, physiotherapy, health promotion, social work, community health, immigrant and refugee services, harm reduction and homeless programs, Pathways to Education, infant and child development programs, parenting programs, youth outreach and employment services. Job Summary
The Consumption Treatment Service (CTS) Coordinator works as part of the multi-disciplinary team and will be responsible for the coordination and management of the day to day operations of the CTS.
The Coordinator works collaboratively with the Manager and other interdisciplinary team members, health care professionals and clients in the identification and resolution of health issues and the integration of care. The Coordinator provides operational and administrative support to the program and supervision to staff working in the CTS. The Coordinator works from a framework that is trauma informed and focuses on the social determinants of health.
This is a Full Time Contract Position, until March 31, 2025.
Staff will have the opportunity to participate in HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan).

Responsibilities Include
- Support and oversee the development, implementation and delivery of a comprehensive Consumption Treatment Service (CTS) utilizing strategies informed by health promotion, community development and engagement, social justice and anti-racism/anti-oppression.
- Responsible for supporting and supervising a diverse CTS staff team, including many with past or current lived experience of drug use.
- Support the day to day operation of the Consumption Treatment Service, ensuring all CTS and Regent Park CHC Policies, Procedures and Medical Directives as well as any/all requirements set out in the Federal Exemption are followed.
- Ensure that program staff provide information and referrals to health and social service supports to CTS service users when requested and as appropriate.
- Ensure all CTS staff are properly trained and skilled in overdose response and prevention including scheduling of on-going training as required.
- Responsible for collection of daily program data and statistics and preparation of regular reporting including progress and final reports.
- Ensure documentation and encounter interactions with clients and the community are completed according to RPCHC guidelines and standards
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Post-secondary education in social work, health promotion, adult education and/or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of community-based experience working with marginalized populations who use illegal drugs and do sex work.
- Experience supervising of staff and volunteers.
- Excellent understanding and demonstrated commitment to harm reduction principles and practices.
- Demonstrable skills and knowledge in overdose prevention and response.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with people experiencing homelessness and mental health issues.
- Experience in group work, including group facilitation, conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
- Working knowledge of HIV/AIDS and HCV from a harm reduction perspective and experience in delivery of safer sex and safe drug use information.
- Awareness of and sensitivity to the health issues of a diverse community and experience working with disenfranchised populations.
- Proficiency in the use of computer technology and various software applications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and planning skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, decision making, conflict management, critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Must be drug and sex positive
- Ability to work collaboratively within and across teams
- Understanding of anti-oppression principles and ability to work effectively with people of various cultural, age and economic backgrounds
- Knowledge of the Regent Park area and issues affecting the community, including services and resources available for clients
- Must have COVID 19 vaccine for the protection of clients and staff.
