Dental and Allied Health Manager
We are a dynamic community-based health centre promoting social justice and health equity in the Regent Park neighbourhood and the Downtown East area of Toronto. We operate out of several locations and provide a wide variety of services including: primary health care, chiropody, physiotherapy, health promotion, social work, community health, immigrant and refugee services, harm reduction and homeless programs, Pathways to Education, infant and child development programs, parenting programs, youth outreach and employment services.
Job Summary:
The Dental and Allied Health Manager is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the Dental, Chiropody, and Physiotherapy teams. The Manager works closely with the Senior Director of Primary Health Care and the Operational Management team to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality services that respond to the needs of clients.
The Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of these programs, ensuring efficiency, service excellence, and adherence to organizational and regulatory standards. This role includes budget management, performance monitoring, staff supervision, and fostering collaboration with internal and external partners.
This is a Full Time Permanent Position, 35 hours per week, plus Benefits and HOOPP Pension

Responsibilities include
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of a fee based dental clinic, and supervision of chiropody and physiotherapy teams.
- Plan, implement and monitor services that respond to the evolving needs of clients and communities served by Regent Park CHC, and that meet performance targets set by organizational leadership and external funders.
- Coordinate coverage and schedules.
- Develop, implement and ensure adherence to policies, protocols and workflows
- Working with the Quality Improvement and Organizational Change Manager to support staff in optimizing use of Electronic Medical/Dental Record systems.
- Co-lead the identification, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of quality improvements within dental, chiropody and physiotherapy.
- Build and maintain effective cross-team collaborations with other teams and programs to enhance service delivery (e.g. HART Hub, Primary Care).
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Three to five years’ experience working as a Dental Assistant, Dental Clerk, Registered Dental Hygienist, Denturist, or Dentist, preferably in a community health or public health environment in a Canadian context; supervisory experience is considered a strong asset.
- Strong knowledge of dental administrative workflow and utilization of electronic medical record systems; knowledge and experience with ABELDent Practice Management Software and PowerBI is a significant asset.
- Demonstrated experience in developing projects and/or leading teams or activities.
- Experience in creating proposals, successfully applying for funding, and/or developing revenue generation models is considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, communication, and supervisory skills.
- Experience working in and/or managing in a unionized setting is an asset.
- Strong de-escalation, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, and standards.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in computer use (Microsoft Office, Internet, and email)
- Experience with an electronic client record system (PSS an asset)
- Ability to effectively manage complaints and de-escalate and manage conflicts
- Understanding of health equity and the social determinants of health
- Understanding of anti-oppression, harm reduction principles and trauma-informed care
- Ability to work effectively with people of various cultural, age and economic backgrounds
- Knowledge of the Regent Park area and issues affecting the community
- Support for the mission and values of RPCHC
- Must be fully vaccinated for the protection of clients and staff
