Message for Clients and Service Users
Unfortunately, we must inform you that the majority of our staff are currently on strike, after negotiations with OPSEU Local 5115 failed to reach an agreement.
We deeply regret any inconvenience and anxiety this may cause for our clients and people in our community.
We are committed to being able to provide whatever level of service we can, particularly for those clients most in need. Our team has been reaching out to people with scheduled appointments to advise them whether we can keep their appointment or will need to reschedule.
Priority is being given to our clients that have the most pressing need to be seen in a timely manner, based on their medical conditions. We are trying to reschedule appointments for any clients that we believe can be delayed safely and with minimal inconvenience, and are working with partners to triage care appropriately.
Until further notice, all other non-medical appointments and programs are cancelled, we would ask that no one try to access services at our facility, unless your appointment has been confirmed by our staff.
We hope that this situation can be resolved as soon as possible, and we can return to providing people in our community with the vital medical and social services that they need.
We remain ready to continue discussions with the union’s bargaining team, and hope that we can reach a fair agreement that is consistent with our centre’s financial realities, that will allow us to continue to serve the community in the future.
