The Immigrant/Refugee Homework Club
The Immigrant/Refugee Homework Club is a joint partnership between RPCHC and Frontier College.
Students are primarily new immigrants who live in the catchment area. The homework club provides students with coaching and tutoring to support their school work. It is a forum for students to get ahead academically, as well as to increase their self-confidence. This program also has an adult literacy component where parents can receive tutoring help as well.

Tuesday Immigration/Refugee Drop-in Program
Tuesday Settlement Services Drop-in provides a weekly walk-in service to assist newcomers and immigrants who live in the community.
Staff is available to provide referrals, information and individual advocacy. They can assist with immigration issues, income support, completing forms, translation & interpretation, housing issues and other issues that arise for clients.

English as a Second Language (ESL)
In partnership with The Toronto District School Board, RPCHC offers English classes to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, convention refugees and refugee claimants.
The program provides language instruction, orientation to the community and available services, as well as academic preparation for further education.

Somali Men’s Group “Himilo”
Monthly support group for Somali-speaking men who have difficulties with mental health and addictions. The program is run in partnership with the Fred Victor Centre.
Group offers lunch with discussion groups on topics and provides educational workshops.

Nutrition and Health Education Services for Immigrants and Refugees
The health education program is offered in a group format in Tamil, Bengali, and Somali. A community health worker and a dietitian work together to facilitate the program.
The goals of nutrition and health education services are to:
- Increase awareness among immigrants and refugees about certain health conditions
- Teach newcomers how to prevent and/or care for chronic diseases by engaging in healthy lifestyles.

Vietnamese Cultural Interpretation Service
We provide cultural interpretation services to clients living in our service area.
Services provided include escorts, individual advocacy, information/referral and interpretation and translation in Vietnamese. Staff also works with other providers of the Health Centre to communicate and relay information to clients.
